Hearthwood
West Hollywood, California
Located in West Hollywood, Hearthwood was envisioned by its owner as a forever home, a personal masterpiece shaped by an obsessive attention to detail and a deep love of design. Working with Shubin Donaldson and Standard Architecture, the owner transformed the property into an art piece defined by clean geometric volumes, expansive glazing, and flat, minimal rooflines that frame open interiors filled with light and proportion. A refined material palette of rift-sawn white oak, natural stone, plaster, and smooth stucco balances warmth with modern simplicity, while cobblestone paving and full-height sliding glass doors reinforce the seamless indoor-outdoor connection. Surrounded by tree-lined streets and California greenery, the home's patios, pool, and spa extend living into nature, while thoughtful moments like a soundproof music room for nightly drum sessions reveal its livable, human side. Luxurious yet approachable, sophisticated yet soft, Hearthwood is a timeless expression of modern California living.

Blueprint
"We worked with Assemble over the course of two years while building our home, and we truly could not have done it without them. They were on top of every detail from start to finish, managing the design, engineering, and entire construction team, coordinating orders, and advising on and acting as the key point of communication between us and everyone involved. Assemble is incredibly professional, technical, efficient, and timely. Their calm presence and problem-solving mindset made a complex process feel manageable while always operating with transparency and as a true advocate to us as the owners. Most of all, it was clear that their goal was always to make sure we were happy. We're so grateful for Assemble's support and would recommend them without hesitation."
